Choosing Your Wedding Flowers
The most important day of your life is rapidly approaching; the dress is perfect, you have chosen your shoes and even your hairstyle. But one question remains, "what sort of flowers should I choose"?
The right, or wrong, choice of flowers can make or break the look of a wedding day. But, unless you are a floral expert, it is often tricky to know which blooms compliment, or clash, and asking a florist to decide for you is both impersonal and expensive. Therefore, let's take a look to help you make this decision.
A deciding factor when choosing your wedding flowers is the color scheme you desire for your wedding day. However, with so many varieties of flower now available in a multitude of colors this should not hinder your choice.
Some popular blooms for weddings include roses, lilies and freesias, although many brides are now choosing a mixed bouquet including trailing foliage such as ivy.
Your wedding bouquet can symbolize the type of ceremony and reception that you are hoping for; if you are planning a simple service then a bouquet of one type of flower would beautifully complement the simplicity and loveliness of the day. If, however, you are planning a lavish ceremony then a mixed bouquet, or a cascading bouquet would be the perfect finishing touch to your preparations.
Every flower holds a different meaning, some in language and some in a more personal way. When my sister first started dating, her husband used to buy her a bouquet of pink roses each month. Therefore, when she married there was no other choice for her wedding bouquet; it had to be pink roses.
The personal sentiment of those particular flowers created an obvious choice; and I would urge any would be brides to decide their bouquet flower based on your personal preference, even if it isn't a traditional flower. A friend of mine carried a bouquet of poppies, because they had been her grandmother's favorite flower. When her Grandmother passed away before the wedding she used her bouquet as a means to feel that she was there, and included as part of her ceremony.
You can research flower meanings, names and varieties forever, but nothing will add the special touch to your day that comes from choosing blooms that have a special personal meaning in your life. Flowers form emotional connections, and just seeing a flower can bring back many memories. It is this that is the most important thing to bear in mind when choosing flowers for your wedding; from that day on just seeing that flower will transport you back to the happiest day of your life.
Here is a photo array of various type of bouquets for your viewing pleasure:

Bring Life Back to the Living Room
You're sitting there looking around your living room and you can't help to feel that it needs something. The furniture is nice, the room itself looks good, but you can't help wondering what it is that's missing.
Why not bring some life back to your living room with some fresh cut flowers?
Anything from a simple arrangement to the ultra-elegant hanging crystal array, can really add that much needed something to the room.
I will leave the actual flower selection up to you, but here are a few great ideas that will bring life back to your living room:
Potted Arrangements
You don't necessarily have to make a cut-flower arrangement; live plants will work as well. That tall concrete-look planter that you keep on your front porch will likely fit well in your living room. Choose your favorite flowers, and then plant them in a mix that fits. Keep the planted arrangement in front of your window and you will have a year-round showpiece.

Coffee Table Pieces
That silver vase, or even that glass water jug, may make an interesting container to make a showpiece for your coffee table. If the same old arrangement doesn't work for you, why not use a crystal bowl? Fill your bowl with water and float some fresh cut flowers. Add some floating candles for some added night time flare.
Hanging Arrangements
Another great idea to add some life to your living area is a hanging arrangement. Get a hanging planter, or, if you do some searching you can even find crystal vases that are meant to hang. Make your fresh cut flower arrangement, and hang it up for the world to see.
You will find that "the little something", that seems to be missing from any room, can be added with flowers. Flowers are great for decorating, and they add life to a drab room.
