More Than A Vase: 5 Ideas to Add Some
Style to Any Room
Decorating with
floral arrangements is a
beloved, and time-honored, tradition. A few fresh cut flowers can add
some color to any room. That drab tired kitchen in need of paint, or
that living room that just needs something else, can easily be helped
with a little floral design.
If you’ve decorated with flowers before, then you may be getting tired
of that same old vase, or floral pot. To help you out, here are five
easy ideas to really change the way your floral arrangement comes
together.
1. Watering Can: Instead of keeping your next arrangement in a vase, put
it in
a metal watering can. There are also smaller plastic watering cans
that add color and decoration. This one is a great idea for that outdoor
arrangement or for something different indoors.
2. Cut Wine Bottle: Use a glass cutter and remove the top of your
favorite wine bottle. Arranger your flowers in the bottle for your next
centerpiece. Leave the labels on, or take them off. The colors and sizes
of these bottles will provide you with many choices. Add some colored
beads inside the bottle for a different effect.
3. Tall Crystal Glass: That tall champagne glass could be used for a
smaller floral arrangement. This one makes a great table piece for that
candlelit dinner. Use some colored gel to hold the flowers in place, and
add even more color to your arrangement.
4. Mason Jars: Most mason jars have logos and wording that adds texture
to the glass. Make your next arrangement in a mason jar. Add some
colored rocks, or beads for adding even more texture to your
centerpiece.
5. A Pail: A pail can add to that outdoor or indoor floral arrangement.
With the wide variety of materials, sizes, and colors that can be found
you can find a pail to suit any room or occasion. Try a smaller wooden
pail for your porch table centerpiece, or a colored plastic pail for the
flowers in your daughter’s room.
There really is no limit to what you can come up with. Any container
that can hold water can be used as alternative to a vase. You now have
five ideas to get you started.
