I can’t believe it. The sun is finally shining today. What a glorious site. Even the trees and bushes look happier this morning. I’m itching to get out and do some planting now that the weather is finally warming up and it looks like Spring will be a reality this year. The only thing I am not looking forward to is Spring cleaning. UGH!!! I hate to clean. I need to find a
self-cleaning house, then all would be well with my world.(LOL)

The weather has finally begun to warm up. Every day is getting a little warmer and I think that spring will
actually become a reality. The last few weeks had me questioning whether or not the four seasons would come this year. Last year it seemed like we went from Winter to Summer to Fall and missed Spring altogether. I am getting excited about planting for new flowers this year and have been itching to get out in the yard and do it. Now with the warmer weather approaching, I will be able to do my planting.

My poor sore hubby. Last night was not too good for him. I asked him to please go out and get the
mail from the mail box, since I had never bothered earlier in the day, and he graciously offered. Little did I know the terrible consequences of my request. It was about 9 PM when I asked him to go out. I never realized it had been drizzling rain out a sort of misty type drizzle. Anyway, it was also cold enought to create what we call “black ice”. The type that makes the pavement just look like it’s wet, but it’s actually pure ice. Well, he took that first step on the first stair and his foot went right out from under him and down the cement steps he went, all 8 of them. He painfully got himself up and still walked the 100 yards to the mailbox and back. (Bless his heart.) He managed to get back into the house, I got him to sit down and we rubbed his back up good with some muscle rub.
Today, needless to say, he is pretty sore and thankfully no broken bones. I’m ordering him to bed rest to get that back to feeling better. Later today we found out that a section of the main highway had been closed during the night because of the icing conditions and a 17 car pile-up that occurred not far from the house. I’m just glad I did not have to drive in that weather last night and take him to the emergency room, we probably would never have gotten there.

Ol’ Man Winter has found me. Today when I woke up it was only 14 degrees out. For our area that quite cold. And to make matters worse, it’s supposed to get colder tonight. Brrrrrrrr! I put some extra suet out for the poor birds. At least it will help warm them up and give them an energy boost. It’s a beautiful bright sunny day, one would never think it was that chilly out, but I guess the ice sitting in the bird bath outside my window is a good clue. Oh well, I’ll just keep plugging along on my computer today, nice and toasty inside. Stay warm everyone.

Weather seems to be turning a bit warmer. Some buds have started to appear on the magnolia bush. I hope the freezing temps are over, I would hate to lose the flowers. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather. Would like to get out and plant a new flower garden this spring. One that the deer won’t devour before the blooms appear. I’ll probably plant some clover in the back yard for the deer and hope that will detract them from my small garden.

It’s hard to believe that this is the very last time ever that anything will be published for 2008. It has been a busy year for me. Between my websites and a short stay in the hospital, but luckily all has gone well. Here’s hoping 2009 will fair better. Hopefully the weather in Tennessee will do much better this year too. We have had quite a bit of rain these past few months (which has been very much needed). Maybe 2009 will not see a draught in any of the Tennessee areas. The farmers could use a break this coming year that’s for sure. Here’s wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Take time out to enjoy your surroundings and family, nothing is more important. God Bless.

Weather’s been quiet this week. Hopefully 2009 will start with a bright sunny day. My mom always told me that whatever you do on New’s Years day is what you will be doing all year long. So what I’m hoping for is to win the lottery. (lol) With that said here’s wishing each and everyone a very Happy and Prosperous 2009!

Oh dear, what to blog about. I have not done this before. Should I talk about the weather? No, I don’t think people really care to much about that. Maybe politics. That could be a really hot subject, but I’m not into it, so its a no. Maybe I’ll just stick to flowers and flower arranging and once in a while throw in a bit of what it is like to live in the Tennessee mountains. Yes, that seems to be it! Flowers, wonderful, beautiful, amazing flowers. So folks looks like you’re going to be stuck with me and my flowers and flower arranging. If you have any questions or comments just drop me a line.
