I’m Back

First of all I want to apologize to all my readers for the lack of posts to my blog.  Recent family illnesses, including my own, had kept me away from my job.  However, I am feeling much better now and will be posting on a regular basis.

To start things rolling, I want everyone to meet another addition to my family.  Her name is Katy and she has proven to be a blessing for Chloe.  Chloe had been reverting back to her old ways of being extremely skittish and withdrawn.  After talking with our vet we decided to try getting another dog.  Katy just happened to be available from the same wonderful folks that had fostered Chloe.  And it turns out that  Chloe and Katy had met and been in the same household for a few months before we took Chloe home.  Bringing Katy into our home was much easier since she already knew Chloe.  A little background on Katy would go good about now.  It seems that one cold rainy day, Katy was dumped out of the back of a pick up truck in the middle of the road and let to fend for herself.  Luckily, her foster parents found her and took her in after a neighbor called to say they say a truck dump her off.  Katy is a sweetheart.  She is larger than Chloe and the two of them get along just fine.  Since Katy arrived Chloe has been improving every day.  Even to the point that she will come out and actually meet people now.  And we have our wonderful lovable Katy to thank for that.  So anyway I just want you all to meet Katy the newest member of the family.

Can't help but love a face like that.

Good-bye Old Friend

August 16th, 2010 Posted in House and Home, Main Content, Tennessee Ramblings | 2 Comments »

This week I lost my best friend.  She was a joy to have around the house and kept me and hubby laughing at her antics.  I am talking of our dog Freeway.  Since the day we found her at the shelter until the day we had to take her on her last trip to the vet she will always be remembered fondly.  Freeway loved her belly rubs every morning, before her daily walk with my husband.  She loved  to be petted and cuddling on the couch .  She relished visiting her friends around the neighborhood when she and hubby would go on neighborhood watch together.  All my husband had to do was jingle the keys to the truck and she was there, ready to go.  Yes, I will miss her silent begging for treats and loving nature.  She was the love of our lives for 9 years, and we will miss her dearly……..Good bye my friend.
