Tips For Choosing the Right Wedding Florist

March 6th, 2009 Posted in Main Content, Wedding | No Comments »

As a bride to be planning your wedding, you have so many plans you need to make in order to create the perfect wedding.  One alternative is to make your own bouquet and flower arrangements, especially if your budget is tight.  However, if this is not your desired road to take then the following advice concerning using a florist might be what you are looking for.

The wedding planning decisions can be very stressful. Each little decision you make affects the overall day. Therefore, it is important to try to find help wherever you can. Take help whenever offered and although it is very hard, sometimes, let others help with some of these decisions. Refer to flowers for more information.

Choosing the right florist can really take a lot of stress off of you. However, it is important to know what to look for in a florist so that you end up with a florist that will cater to all of your Wedding Flower needs.

You should reserve your floral designer early on in the wedding planning process. You will want a floral designer who is knowledgeable, creative and pleasant. Most importantly, your florist should be courteous and sensitive to your desires and try to accommodate you with the best flowers available within your budget, no matter how much or little you have to spend.

What to do BEFORE you head out to meet with a florist.

Think about the type of person you can work with well. Do you want someone who is going to take charge and pretty much make all of the decisions for you? Or, would you rather just have someone who can gently guide you in the right direction? Or, would you like a combination of both? Someone who knows the best, but offers their advice in a manner that puts you in control?

Talk to friends and relatives who have recently been married and find out who they would recommend and where they have interviewed florists.

Really think about the colors and type of bouquet you have always dreamed of before you go in to see a florist. This way you will have some idea of what you like. However, be open to the suggestions your florist
has, as you could be pleasantly surprised. Visit flowers for more information.

Here are some questions you can ask a potential florist.

1. What is the florist’s design philosophy? Florists generally love to share their artistic abilities. Ask to see a portfolio. Do their styles and views fit with your own ideas?

2. The florist should have an extensive portfolio showing a broad range of wedding work from bouquets to centerpieces. Photos are a great way to see the consistency of work.

3. You can get an idea of a florists experience by asking questions. What flowers will be in season on your wedding day? What if your budget is small, how can the florist maximize your options?

4. What are trends in style now? Why would or wouldn’t your idea work?

5. What are the most popular flowers for your wedding season?

6. Does the florist preserve bouquets after the wedding? If your florist does not preserve bouquets, than ask for references and be sure to make an appointment before the wedding, so that you can get your flowers preserved directly after.

Choosing the right florist will help take off some of the pressures of all of those wedding decisions. Once you have made your decision, your florist will guide you along the process of making the best wedding flower decisions and help you to create the wedding of your dreams.

No matter if you decide to do your own floral arranging, or use the services of a florist, your wedding day will be what you want it to be.
