Sometimes Flower Scents are not a Good Thing

Always keep in mind that your flowers do have a scent. There’s nothing worse than making a flower arrangement that does not appeal to the sense of smell. Many times, the scent of your flower arrangement is too powerful for a small room or dinner table. Often, flower scents are too strong or unpleasant for some people and can cause them to get sick. For example, strong scented gardenias or lilies are probably not good options for small or hot rooms or dinner tables. Some flowers are what we call “stinkers.” They just don’t smell good or don’t smell good to some people. If the flower doesn’t smell that good in a flower shop, it definitely will not smell good when it is placed in a small area.

Tip 4 of 10 (10 Tips to Flower Arranging)

Here is your number 4 tip:

Like the Human Body, Water is Essential to Flowers

Flowers can only thrive if they have plenty of water. If you want your flowers to last and remain beautiful, you must check the water frequently. When you have a glass vase or container, it is easy to notice if the water level is low and water needs to be added. You can instantly see if the water is cloudy, which is a sign of a bacteria infestation and means you need to clean your vase and change your water. But, with opaque or solid containers, it is much more difficult to notice if you need to do something about the water. You have to keep on top of it

My 1st post

Oh dear, what to blog about.  I have not done this before.  Should I talk about the weather?  No, I don’t think people really care to much about that.  Maybe politics.  That could be a really hot subject, but I’m not into it, so its a no.  Maybe I’ll just stick to flowers and flower arranging and once in a while throw in a bit of what it is like to live in the Tennessee mountains.  Yes, that seems to be it!  Flowers, wonderful, beautiful, amazing flowers. So folks looks like you’re going to be stuck with me and my flowers and flower arranging.  If you have any questions or comments just drop me a line.
