The weather has finally begun to warm up. Every day is getting a little warmer and I think that spring will
actually become a reality. The last few weeks had me questioning whether or not the four seasons would come this year. Last year it seemed like we went from Winter to Summer to Fall and missed Spring altogether. I am getting excited about planting for new flowers this year and have been itching to get out in the yard and do it. Now with the warmer weather approaching, I will be able to do my planting.

Here’s a little something about a recent floral arrangement I just did for my December newsletter about floral cake.
Well, anyway after I finished it, I was trying to figure out what I could do with it. So I called around the neighborhood to see if anyone had any birthdays or anniversaries coming up, but no one did. Then I remembered that one of our friends was in the local nursing home because of a series of strokes and I called her husband to see if she might like to have it as a New Years Get Well. He said sure so I had him take it to her. I changed the sign to say Happy New Year 2009 and added a sparkler candle to it. He took it over to her. She wasn’t in her room but in the community center room and so he put it on the table where she was. Everyone that came in saw it and thought she had gotten a cake for New Year’s. But when they looked closer they saw it was actually a floral arrangement. So I guess it accomplished what I set out to do. Make a floral cake (Sugar Free).

What a beautiful, glorious morning. The sun is shining, got to sleep in late and my loving hubby made me breakfast. What more could I ask for. Now if this would keep up all year long that would be just great, but I don’t think that will be the case. We will have to just see what the future holds. Other than that I have only one other thing to say HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

It’s hard to believe that this is the very last time ever that anything will be published for 2008. It has been a busy year for me. Between my websites and a short stay in the hospital, but luckily all has gone well. Here’s hoping 2009 will fair better. Hopefully the weather in Tennessee will do much better this year too. We have had quite a bit of rain these past few months (which has been very much needed). Maybe 2009 will not see a draught in any of the Tennessee areas. The farmers could use a break this coming year that’s for sure. Here’s wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Take time out to enjoy your surroundings and family, nothing is more important. God Bless.

Weather’s been quiet this week. Hopefully 2009 will start with a bright sunny day. My mom always told me that whatever you do on New’s Years day is what you will be doing all year long. So what I’m hoping for is to win the lottery. (lol) With that said here’s wishing each and everyone a very Happy and Prosperous 2009!

I can’t believe that Christmas is now behind me. The day turned out to be a wonderful one for my husband and me, but alas no snow showed up. Slept in late Christmas morning. Enjoyed a quiet breakfast together, opened a few presents and relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Later in the early evening walked next door to my sisters house for Christmas dinner with her and her hubby. Opened a few more gifts, watched some TV together and headed back to our house. A totally relaxing day. I hope that everyone all over enjoyed their holiday celebrations. Here’s to the the coming New Year. I wish everyone the best for 2009!

Where did the year go so quickly. Seems like only yesterday we were ringing in 2008 and now it will be 2009 in just 12 more days. I can hardly believe it. Right now as I’m sitting here typing its been raining for the last week or so (something we have really needed in the area for a long time), but for now it’s a dismal gray day outside. All the snow is gone, but hopefully we will have a bit by Christmas Day.
After that I don’t mind if it leaves again, I just like to have some snow on Christmas Day. The birds are enjoying their meal on the feeders out on the porch and every once and a while the squirrels come by and steal some of the food too. Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone the Merriest Christmas and the Happiest New Year.
Enjoy the holidays, eat, drink (but not too much), laugh (a lot) and just enjoy yourself.
